Liner Notes
Jimmy & Dottie
….Singing Very Well and
Having a Great Time Working TogetherI have worked with Jimmy for a long time and ever since I can remember he has wanted to record an album with Dottie West; however, wanting to do it and getting it done are two different things when you are working with artists who are constantly travelling. Well, they finally accomplished it. Recording schedules were set, material was selected, and Jimmy and Dottie began rehearsing in Nashville for what has turned out to be not so much an album on a “Musical Barn Raising.” Everyone involved hit a lick or two under the watchful eye and steady guidance of producer Jerry Bradley. Grady Martin, Charlie McCoy, The Jordanaires, Buddy Harman and a host of other talented people all contributed during a week of sheer joy, making music. Above all, there were Jimmy Dean and Dottie West, two of the finest performers in our business, singing very well indeed and just having a great time working together. Come to think of it, I had a better time than anyone. All I had to do was sit back, listen, and enjoy. And that’s my prescription for you. Sit back, listen, and enjoy two of the finest people I know. I think ‘find they sing well, too.
