Liner Notes

Dottie West, one of the Grand Ole Opry’s brightest stars has become a Country girl singing sensation with a long series of hit records recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, the Country Music Capitol of the World. Dottie was recently honored with a “Dottie West Day” in her home-town of Cookeville, Tennessee Tech. Her husband Bill West, whom she met at college is an excellent steel guitar player and works closely with Dottie in guiding her career. Dottie and Bill West moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1956 where Dottie did a weekly T.V. show called “Landmark Jamboree” and started making personal appearances throughout the area. Delmar Williams, a Dayton, Ohio songwriter and promoter recognized Dottie’s talent and brought her to the Starday Studios to make records. The very fine recordings contained in this package resulted and Dottie’s career was successfully started. These recordings were made at the Starday Sound Studios in Nashville under the direction of Tommy Hill with Jack “Hoss” Linneman at the controls. Recordings were made in stereo and re-mixed for maximum monaural sound quality. This is another in a series of Country Music album presentation of truly authentic Country Music Worldwide.
